October has reared its head in just a blink of an eye and as they say, it’s pumpkin spice latte season! Truth be told, I’ve never actually had a pumpkin spiced latte – never tried pumpkin and I don’t like coffee. Let’s say it’s Halloween season for me instead, yet I’m already deciding which chocolate advent calendar I should get. Does anyone feel like the last 3 months of the year just mould into one long month?

Rana Begum explores the perception of light and colour in this stunning exhibition at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery in Ealing which has now ended. Cleverly utilising the space in the gallery and manor, the mesh delicately suspends under light sources. The art in the gallery reminds me of clouds floating and it would be amazing to see how these look at different times of the day. She has other works around the gallery which were intriguing and made me think, damn, she had so much patience.

The art in the Manor wasn’t something I had expected. The neon colours contrasted with the stairs interior which made this essentially pop. The concept is simple yet effective.

Rejoined the Gym

This was long overdue and have finally plucked up the courage to join the gym again after quite some time – a long time. I feel healthy enough to join. It’s actually a terrifying experience itself as I do get paranoid about everything and anything about my health. So many thoughts and what ifs were running through my mind, doubting my decision at times.

After the first two gym sessions, I’ve never felt doms like this before – aches everywhere. I went straight in and lifted heavy. I didn’t go alone so I felt safe knowing I had someone by my side in case I started feeling unusual. I was that paranoid. After many gym sessions over the past month, I had built the confidence in being back at the gym lifting and can’t wait to continue after my holiday. Weightlifting gloves (calluses are not the one) and Google sheets to track my progress at the ready.

Planning Italy

I was meant to go to Venice back in June but the outbound flight was cancelled an hour before boarding. That’s a story for another time. I’m already in Italy as we speak. This is an overdue holiday after having many stressful moments at work and haven’t been on annual leave since April. It’s finally time to clock off, wind down and try not to check work emails for the next 10 days. I’m the type to check them whenever I’m off which I need to stop. Day one and I’ve already failed at this. Watched a beautiful sunset on the descend though.

Since booking these flights, my journey began with a lot of research and planning. Now I’m thinking how to plan my travel blog posts. Am I happy with the way I’ve done my travel posts in the past or should I go in a slightly different direction? I’ve still got a lot of travels in China to post and would love to show everyone the beautiful places I’ve seen and experienced. I’ll need to read more blogs to get some inspiration.
