It’s December right now and all I can say is happy advent calendar month! I’m enjoying my Hotel Chocolate advent calendar. I wish I could say the chocolate gives me the motivation to get out of bed in the cold mornings but I’d be lying. It’s a nice treat though. Anyways, here is November’s monthly musings.

Hair Paranoia

It has been a stressful month meaning my diet has taken a toll. This led me to be paranoid about my hair, thinking it was falling out more than usual and that it’s gotten thinner. Being paranoid is probably not helping either. Having fine and thin hair, the last thing I want is this. I did a quick Google on products I can use to help reduce the fallout, and strengthen it, and had come across a product called Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil.

After reading the reviews, I was convinced on trying it. The one thing I didn’t realise was that this product was already doing the rounds on TikTok (I still don’t have the app downloaded) therefore it was sold out at my local Superdrugs store. Anywhos, I was able to order it online and have been giving it a shot, trialling the best times for me to use it. A review will be coming in the new year. Let’s say I haven’t been consistent in use so it will take some time.

The C Word

Dare I say it? Christmas! Christmas trees and decorations are already up around town and I’m feeling unusually festive early on. My eyes always light up whenever I’m in the Christmas decoration section and I spend most of my time in-store looking for the perfect Christmas tree decoration this year or kitchenware.

My current obsession is gingerbread houses and I have been scouring the internet trying to find the ideal ceramic gingerbread house ornament that isn’t too tall, too glittery or too expensive. I’m surprised there are not many out there but I did eventually find one plus a Christmas tree decoration! It’s so cute. I’m also thinking about a gingerbread house kit to decorate (and eat). Now I’m waiting my star topper to arrive and all I can say is, it’s different and epic. I’m so excited.

Christmas at Kew

Kew Gardens has always been on my to visit list and everyone has always recommended I should visit during the Christmas period (other than spring/summer). Well, here I am! Tickets were hard to book online since the majority of them are sold out as soon as it’s released, especially peak time tickets. Luckily I was able to grab my hands on some off peak tickets for the Victoria Gate and I wasn’t disappointed one bit.

Walking on the trail in the cold yet the mulled wine and hash browns have kept me warm to a certain extent. I’ve been told my face was like a little child when looking at the installations – happy, mesmerised and pulling the ooo face. It’s easy to get around as you would need to follow the trail and you would encounter different light installations from various artists along the way. I’ll need to go again next year and would recommend everyone to go if you’re able to secure tickets.

  • I nearly cried watching Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Held back the tears in the cinema.
  • Found a new recipe I love making – Tomato Basil Baked Chicken and Rice. I cut down the salt from 1 tsp to half tsp for the chicken.
  • Wednesday was a brilliant watch on Netflix.
  • I’ve registered for Glastonbury and I hope I’m able to get my hands on the resale tickets next spring.
