Truthfully, I would consider Korean beauty products, especially their skincare, are the best out there. Their advanced formulas are second to none, hence always clawing me back for more. I’ve seen a few Western brands releasing Korean influenced products but it just isn’t the same. Call me a snob if you will. And possibly, Asian skincare brands work better than Western skincare on Asian skin? This I cannot 100% confirm. I list five must-have Korean products I will always repurchase.
I remember I disliked this when I had first tried this back in 2011ish. But decided to retry it years later and ever since then, it’s been my HG foundation. You can read the latest review here. To quickly summarise, ageing and finding suitable products that had complimented this BB cream were the reasons dislike turned into love. I already have backups of shades #21 and #23. I will never go back to an actual foundation ever again.
This I have to thank my sister for. After my little mishap with my original HG MAC Pro Longwear concealer which sadly isn’t sold in China, I was on the hunt for my new HG. My sister had recommended me this and thought why not despite her skin type (sensitive and dry) is the complete opposite of mine (oily and spot prone). If I can’t trust my own family, who can I trust? Let’s say, HELLO NEW HG! Incredible coverage especially my dark circles, long-lasting, doesn’t break the bank one tiny bit and dare I say it, even better than my previous HG. I think I’ll have to do a separate blog post review of it at some point. For now, if you’re looking for a new concealer to try, I 1000% recommend this.
Another product my sister had introduced to me and should thank. This paired with the Foreo Luna Go is a godsend. My sister was travelling around China with me for a month and had the worst breakout on my forehead. I haven’t had a forehead breakout since my teens so naturally, I became stressed which didn’t help. She had suggested I try out the small travel bottle of this cleanser and boy, was she an angel. To put it simply, it helped stop, soothe and combat my breakouts within a week. And in less than a month, my breakout had cleared. This in combination with other skincare products was a match made in heaven.
BANILA CO is not only the first cleansing balm I have tried but also the only one. I incorporate this as a part of my double cleanse routine. Back then, the idea of using an oil-based cleanser was quite unsettling and something I’d never use. I can’t remember exactly what had made me change my mind but I’m never looking back nor skipping over this now important step. I’m the type of person where if I find a product I absolutely love through and through, I don’t try anything else. My mind just doesn’t comprehend others exist. I’ve used this for four years now, yet every usage works as wondrous as from the very first use.
If you go to Asia and you haven’t picked up any sheet masks, did you even go to Asia? Innisfree has always been my go-to store for sheet masks. I think it’s a sign that I should really purchase other brands. There’s too many to choose from but love how convenient they are. Saturated with skin-loving goodness, ready to take your skin from lacklustre to plump and glowing. Rip one open, unfold, place and relax. Let the mask do its job. It’s as easy as 123. I always have a drawer full and try to reach for at least once every week. I do have my lazy periods too. I did post a 10 sheet masks hacks a few years ago which is still relevant and helpful.
