We all have a pet peeves. Some may be worse than others. Here is my list of fashion and beauty ones.
Visible panty line – Leggings, fitted maxi skirts, anything fitted and is made of thin material can lead to the outline of the panties if you wear the wrong ones. The panties may be nice, pretty or cute but the outline isn’t. I’d feel like I was exposing myself if I had VBL.
Short shorts – Out and about during the day where the peaches are on show is definitely a no. Think about the young children! At times, I want to pull them down a tad to make sure they’re covered up to save their dignity.
Sheer leggings – Peekaboo skin. Nice seeing you through these sheer leggings… Might as well add their underwear to this view. I’ve seen so many like this walking in front of me. Not pleasant.
Uggs in the rain – I haven’t seen many people wearing Uggs or fake Uggs for like a year or more. Has this trend died now? But those in the rain or slushy ice is the worst. Water gets soaked through regardless and it’s not a pretty look. This is probably a really stupid idea.
Too much bling – It’s always nice to express yourself but if the bling is excessive, it starts looking cheap. Or is that me who only thinks like this?
Foundation not matching and caking – If I see someone wearing foundation that doesn’t match the neck, I’d be tempted to go over and try to blend it out. Or I’d want to give them a makeup wipe if it’s too orange. Also, would you like some jam and cream with that cakey foundation? (A victoria sponge cake reference just in case you wasn’t on the same wavelength or my humour is really dry)
Clumpy eyelashes – Just… Need I say more?
Panda eyes – Yes I may have done the thick eyeliner before but I have stopped and learnt from it. It had become a pet peeve when I see thick eyeliner or even the use of black eyeshadow on the eyelids during the day.
Eyebrows – There is a difference between filling your brows and drawing it with a sharpie. Anything to do with the brows is a pet peeve; from the wrong fill colour to the wrong shape to the no brows with heavy makeup. My eyebrows are sparse but it doesn’t mean I’ll draw them with a “sharpie”.
Concealer/Foundation “Nude” lips – Blending the lips into the face was a trend back in the days and thankfully it’s died (I like to think). There has been some instances where the nude colour of the lips was lighter than the rest of the face. Wasn’t a pretty look. If it’s too nude, you just look lifeless. There is a perfect nude colour for everyone. It doesn’t necessarily mean the same colour as your foundation.
What are you fashion and or beauty pet peeves?
