Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour in Rose
04 April 2017
MY NO LIPSTICK STAPLE
This shade is described as "sheer rose tint, gives lips a healthy glow". This is actually a lovely natural, nude pink shade and when applied, you will see instantaneous shine. My lips are naturally pigmented and had found this lightens my lips a tiny bit, yet enhances my lip colour and giving it that healthy glow. The colour and shine will fade over time and doesn't stain the lips. A versatile shade for any look with it's sheer tint but those with darker skin tones may not like this.
It has a thick consistency but when it's on the lips or fingers, it melts due to the warmth making the balm easy to apply. Too thick to use with a brush. You don't need to apply a lot. Due to it's consistency, this is a brilliant product to use during winter even when my lips have split and are cracked. It works well under lipstick too. Not sticky yet not oily. Too much and you can definitely feel it on the lips then it will start becoming a tad sticky. It does leave my lips feeling soft, so so soft, moisturised and smooth. It's helped soften the peeling dead skin, making it easier to exfoliate off (or even peel it off shhhh). Not sure if that was a product intention but I'm not complaining.
This lasted longer than my other lip balms and I quite enjoy reapplying this. This one has SPF 15. High five to that. The newer versions have SPF 30. A bigger high five! No sunscreen smell or aftertaste. This is my pick me up if I'm wearing makeup yet can't be bothered with a lipstick. I don't mind the packaging myself but I know some people won't be too keen on it. It can be hard to squeeze out when it's really cold but it does get thinner when out in the warmth.
It is also available in 3 other shades:
Rhubarb: Sheer fruity tint deepens your natural lip colour.
Red Apple: Sheer red tint brightens your natural lip colour.
Perfect Nude: Sheer universal nude tint.
