VDL + Pantone Expert Color Lip Cube in Tranquility: ₩22,000 (around £15.00)

ROSE QUARTZ & SERENITY

This year’s Pantone colours of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity are absolutely beautiful and when VDL had collaborated with Pantone, I knew I had to get my hands on this. Purely because of the ombre packaging and the colours. Looking at the products, I had my heart set on this due to the marbling of the two shades in this.

For those who haven’t heard of VDL, they are a Korean brand founded by LG and are really known for their revolutionary, innovative cube lipstick. Yes you’ve read it right, LG, cube lipstick. Now back to this lip cube. There are three shades released in this collaboration and this shade, Tranquility, is the only one that is more of a tinted lip balm. The combination of both Rose Quartz and Serenity combines into a light pink shade with blue undertones.

When applied onto the lips, it’ll help enhance your natural lip colour, like your lips but better. This reminds me of the Dior Lip Glow Colour Awakening balm but less pigmented. It glides on smoothly and with one swipe, you get a nice sheen of colour without the sticky feel. The colour can be built up but I have found that it will not be 100% opaque and I’m OK with that. It is moisturising but it’s not the best for chapped lips. If your lips are just dry and need some moisture then this will work better for you. As with most lip balms, the wear time is a few hours and doesn’t really last whilst eating and drinking. I can’t describe the smell but it is pleasant.

It’s aesthetically pleasing and I love carrying it around with me. I’ll be using other lip balms when my lips are chapped though. VDL is a brand that is hard to get my hands on but was lucky enough to get one thanks to my cousin in Hong Kong. I wish I had visited the stores to check out what VDL has in store when I was visiting Hong Kong back in August. Next time.

Are you as aesthetically pleased as I was, well still am?
