Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: £12.76*

MELT AWAY DEAD SKIN

We all must have heard of sleeping masks but have you heard of a lip sleeping mask? One of Laneige’s cult product in the Korean beauty world is Water Sleeping Mask and now they have a lip version. I’m the type who gets chapped lips so easily and finding the perfect lip balm is a nightmare.

First things first, how cute is the mini spatula spoon thing? The tip is made of rubber/silicone so it’s flexible, easy to use and clean. I hate the feeling of the product under my nails if I dig in. It even comes in its own little pouch! Enough about that, more about the formulation etc.

Vitamin C-rich Berry Mix ComplexT, containing raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry extracts erases dry, flaky dead skin on the lips during the night to leave smooth and supple lips the next morning whilst hyaluronic acid helps in moisture absorption overnight.

Berry Mix Complex – Berry extracts rich in vitamin C and anti-oxidants act on dry, rough lips, making them smooth and supple.

MOISTURE WRAP – Hyaluronic acid mineral network forms a moisturizing film to help lock-in active ingredients and the skin to absorb and retain moisture through the night.

Sweet and fruity berry fragrance – Sweet and relaxing fragrance that smells so delicious, it reminds you of real berries.

Using the spoon, I apply a liberal amount onto the lips just before I go to sleep then let it do its magic. Just looking at the product in the pot, it reminds me of wax melts but the texture is more of a waxy balm. It was easy to scoop and it melts onto the lips with ease and it’s not sticky. It’s thicker than a balm. It smells of berries crossed with bubblegum. It’s sweet and is not to everyone’s taste but I personally love it.

In the morning, I use a tissue to remove the excess and I’m left with moisturised, soft and smooth lips. There are times where the mask has been fully absorbed into the lips if I had applied a thin amount. The results are still amazing. This helps chapped and sore lips by soothing them and hydrating. A healing godsend. If I do have skin flaking off, this masks softens them and using tissue removes them without causing any pain or bleeding. You can say this mask exfoliates. If my lips aren’t as dry, this helps plump them up more. If I apply a thick layer of lip balm from other brands, I don’t get the same results.

This would be a great product to use in conjunction with a lip scrub. Why? The mask will penetrate into the skin better, leaving the lips more soft and moisturising. Regardless of how you use this, it’s a great first step in prepping your lips ready for any lipstick you use. It actually helps them apply a lot smoother and doesn’t dry out the lips easily.

I’ve been using it every night for the past 3 months and this pot will last me ages even though it looks small. It’s now a staple product in my skincare routine, something I never had thought would be so effective and am completely smitten. I actually cannot live without it and will definitely be repurchasing it. Chapped lips no more. You can purchase it on YesStyle and is worth every penny.

Have you heard of a lip mask before?
