VERA MONA COLOR SWITCH ALTERNATIVE

Have you guys seen the Vera Mona Colour Switch Solo/Duo that can help you quickly clean brushes so they can be used for another colour, which is very useful when you’re doing a smokey eye and you want to use the same brush? You can get this in the UK from £13.50 depending on where you buy it but here is a cheaper alternative to Vera Mona.

Use a hair doughnut! The ones you can get for £1 in Primark. You just swirl the brush around the hair doughnut then bam, you’re ready to dip that brush into another shade. No need to wet the brush. Like the Vera Mona product, this works perfectly for any powder products. Not so great for liquid or cream. It doesn’t have to be eyeshadows; contour, highlighting, face powders, powder blushers, powder anything. When it’s looking a bit worn out, wash or just purchase a new one. Cheap as chips! You can place it into a tin, bowl, jar, anything you like. I have read that Vera Mona uses the same hair doughnut material.

This was so useful when I was heading to the US as I had forgotten to pack my makeup brushes, silly me! I had to purchase a few new brushes but didn’t want to splurge out every brush I needed so chose a few that had multipurpose use. The doughnut was a lifesaver.

Would you try this out?
