CUTE MINATURES

Travel-sized makeup seems to be a rare thing in the UK. They tend to be freebies in magazines as sample sizes but are definitely great to carry around when on the go but it’s not a common occurrence. It’s easy to find miniature skin and body care and other toiletries but why not makeup? Whilst in Canada last year, I did notice how there are travel-sized makeup items eyeing you up whilst you queue to pay in Sephora. Oh yes, I did cave. Let me tell you, it was hard to say no to the little cuties! They did have a great selection. Great sales tactic there.

Having done some research on the available travel sizes readily available in the UK, there aren’t many. The selection of items that were available was, oh how would I say this, absolute rubbish (in the most British way I could). I haven’t seen any drugstore miniatures in both sides of the Atlantic as they tend to be on the higher end but do correct me if you have seen some around.

I also find travel-sized are great to try out new products, letting you decide on whether to purchase the full size. Hourglass is a great example. I saw their liquid lipsticks in two shades and the ambient powder in dim whilst waiting to pay in Sephora and of course, I had to hop on board. I wish I bought the miniature powder now.

What are your thoughts on travel-sized makeup?

I do love a great travel product. I love that you can actually test them out before hand before purchasing and find out that you dont like it. Great little travel goodies you have there!!

My husband recently bought me a travel size set of Clinique lip glosses from duty free at Heathrow airport, and they are gorgeous and a great size. They had some lovely travel sized items there.

  4. You are right travel size make up is not easy to find, such a shame too as not only are they handy for travelling but it is a great way of introducing yourself to a new brand or product before committing to buying a full size version.

I like minis for travelling if I bump into them but I don't go looking for them to take on holidays. I just carry my usual sizes.

You're right there really isn't a large amount of travel sized products int he UK. When I do buy stuff I tend to buy palettes from the airports which is a great way to try different products from the same brand. x

I have to admit I do love a nice travel sized product, they are big enough to let you really get a feel for a product without the huge price tag. x

Love this idea! Canada has awesome stuff like that. My cousin lives there and she has a lot of cute things I don't have. I'm hard-pressed to find makeup sample sizes in the states, but will have to check my Sephora next time I'm in there.

I don't have a lot of miniature makeup products. I imagine they're really nice for travel.

My favourite kind, it can be difficult taking every single thing you own with you and mini makeup takes up a lot less space.

I loooove travel sized things – a lot of makeup products I struggle to use up within the recommended time frame anyway, so smaller sizes would be perfect for me :)Jess xo | The Indigo Hours
