Louboutin Lipstick Collection

EGYPTIAN QUEEN NEFERTITI

First Louboutin releases nail polishes last year, this year it's lipstick. Being inspired by the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, Babylonian architecture and the Art Deco movement, I must say, I'm swooning over the packaging but the formula might be a different story but who knows. There is going to be 36 shades released and one is the signature Louboutin red, Rouge Louboutin. It will come in 3 different finishes: velvet matte, sheer voile and silky satin. Each finish will have the Rouge Louboutin shade which comes in a black case instead. To differentiate the different finishes, the packaging is slightly different for each finish (click on the images below to enlarge).

Here's the bad ish news. It's $90 (works around to be £58 but it will most likely be more expensive due to UK tax etc) each. Ouch much? But I'm not surprised especially when the nail polish is $50 (£36 in the UK). This is also a two in one. You can wear it as a necklace too. It is released next month in the USA. I'm not sure about the UK but it will come eventually.

  11. The elegant packaging and the Egyptian inspired ads look very good indeed. But it all boils to whether that prohibitive price is worth it.

  12. Talk about class and elegance. I've been a fan of Christian Louboutin for a while now and I have to say the lipsticks have been a dream of mine since I saw them. Such beauty.

  14. The packaging is just amazing, it looks like a piece of art instead of just a cosmetic. I'm not too keen on buying it though, just way too expensive for my budget.

  15. That one heck of a price tag. The packaging is indeed a huge bonus that might just push others to buy it more. I wouldn't though, unless the lipstick is natural and organic of course. :)
