FIRST EXPERIENCE

I had purchased a cute maxi dress from Tobi.com. Had looked at the size guide carefully, the fit on the model and decided to purchase it in a medium. Tobi has the 50% deal quite frequently as their pricing is too high for what it actually is worth. It took around 2 weeks to arrive to the UK, being shipped from South San Francisco, California. I've been slapped with custom fees I needed to pay which I'm not surprised about.

First of all, the dress looks exactly like the picture on the website. This is where it goes down hill from there. The sizing was way off. This dress feels like a UK size 6 (small on me) and the quality was so cheap. I was sucked in by the 50% off they had so I'm slightly glad that I didn't pay full price however it was still expensive. The dress ripped after I was gently adjusting whilst trying it on.

I was looking forward to wearing this on my holiday and in the summer but it looks like it'll have to be thrown into the bin. Returning this would be useless and wasting time and more money, being located in the US. Disappointed is not even the best word to describe this.

Tobi does have some amazing clothes however I will not shop there again. Low quality, high prices and a waste of money unfortunately.

Have you shopped there before? If so, how was the quality?

  2. That sucks so bad! I guess as you said, you didn't buy it at full price, but that's still annoying. I don't know how much it cost, but is it worth returning/complaining?

    1. it was originally £57.64, so £28.82 :/ it just feels like I'll be wasting more money on it if i return it. seems to be more of a hassle as they're in the US

  6. i've never shopped at tobi before, but have always been skeptical because you can actually see if you zoom in on their photos, how low quality their things are
and yeah, like you said, prices WAY too high for what you're actually getting

  10. Aw such a pity for this bad experience!! I never buy clothes online except for H&M because I know what I'm getting into and can return in the shop.

  11. That's so annoying! The design looks great, but the quality must be bad for it to rip like that.

  12. I'd definitely get in touch with them, they should cover return costs if it's a faulty item! I'd be so disappointed too :(

  14. I was planning to get my hands on the dresses as the pictures on the site are really amazing!! I thunk I won't be planning to buy anything from the site no more.. But sometimes the pictures are so tempting, especially the 50% discount they offer! But that is probably their marketing strategy because everything is still quite expensive though...
Thanks to your post, I bet everyone who have read this will be safe from the site... 😋
But you know what? Some YouTubers that I have watched love that site.. So maybe it's just the dress.. I don't know.. 😣😣😣

  16. Hey Yuki! I'm a long time lurker (years?) and I just felt the need to comment on this post. I couldn't agree with you more. Tobi does a great job of marketing and presenting their product online, but quality is just way off for its price point. We're better off going to Forever 21 for cheaper and mediocre quality. Since my last purchase at Tobi, I've never been back.

  17. I haven't heard of this brand before. Such a shame that it isn't any good, at least you didn't pay full price! I guess that's the problem with ordering stuff from overseas and it's too much hassle to send it all back! x

  18. Ahh what a shame, it still looks like a great dress though. I've never heard of the site but will be wary in future! xx
