LOVE IS IN THE HAIR

Today is the day where I will be spending my time with my three favourite men, Ben & Jerry’s (ice cream) and Stan Lee (Marvel movies). Today will also be the last day I will post something with the word “Valentine” in it until next year. I’ve never really been fond of this day regardless of my relationship status. You could say I’m the Valentine Grinch.

I do have a heart shaped bun on my head to celebrate this day ending. Wow, I sound so miserable but trust me I’m not! I’m turning this into a tutorial. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Tools needed:
Hair doughnut
Hair ties

The Heart Bun Hair tutorial

1. Use a hair tie and tie about a third in on the hair doughnut.

2. Use another hair tie and tie it so it looks like a Mickey Mouse silhouette. Adjust the hair ties if needed to get your perfect heart shape.

3. Use the heart shape doughnut as you normally do.

Tip: Use hair grips (bobby pins) to pin down any loose areas and to shape the heart. I needed one to shape and pin down the “v” part of the heart to accentuate it more.

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day whatever you’re doing!

  1. Awww, I wish my hair is thick enough to do this, but alas, too thin to style the bun.

Aww, my hair is rebonded and way too thick and long to use a hair donut. Tried it before, not only it couldn't stay up, I looked like I've grown another head.

This is surprisingly simple! But the most important that the hair can't be too layered and have to be long enough!

I did not know there were things like that to make hair buns shaped a certain way. Ignorant me. Needs thick long hair to work though. Nice.

That is a lovely suggestion to feel the spirit of Valentine's day but the hairstyle is not only suitable for this occasion. I would love to have my hair like that all week.
