The Right Way to Use Hair Grips (Bobby Pins)?
29 January 2014
RIGHT OR WRONG?
You're probably thinking what the?! The most simplest hair tool used daily and most people are using them incorrectly, even myself. Then a friend told me the "right" way. In these 22 years of my life (well make that around 13 years counting from when I had first started using these), I've always believed that the way to use them is the way they're shown when you purchase them, the wavy side up right? Wrong. It's the wavy side down. Having the wavy side down, means the end of the grip can scoop the hair into the grip. The waves is designed to keep your hair in place and the straight side is meant to push the hair into the waves and to prevent hair from sliding out.
Thinking about this, I have noticed that when I've used it wavy side up, I do get bits of fly away hair coming lose and out of the waves meaning I'd have to constantly take them out and put them in again. Since using it the "correct" way, there is a massive difference. Bits of fly away hair doesn't come lose anymore. It's the little things that makes a difference.
Did you know about this? Do you think there is a right and wrong way of using them?
