AVOJO Skincare The Black Peel Off Mask: £3 each/5 for £10*

ANOTHER BLACK MASK

Before I had tested this, I had dreaded the thought of the potential pain when peeling it. Plucked up the courage and tested it out. This is a mask for the t-zone to remove excess oil, dirt and blackheads. The consistency is thick and I had used less than half a packet, most likely a quarter. It smooths and sticks onto your face without a problem. It takes longer than stated on the packet to dry so I had to leave it on for another 10 minutes. It wasn’t painful to peel off. I have noticed that it didn’t take my blackheads out. It did get rid of the excess oils however I didn’t notice a difference in blackhead reduction. It’s still the same and couldn’t see any on the mask.

A week later, I decided to try it as a whole face mask. This is the only black peel off mask I’ve tried that doesn’t make me say ouch or tears start flowing which is always a good sign. It isn’t painless but it is bearable. Doing this had left my skin feeling soft and prepped for moisturising. It’s like it had exfoliated my face, seeing the dead skin on the mask. The next day, skin isn’t as oily as it usually is and didn’t break me out. Impressive. Half of the packet is used for my face, so I shared the rest with my sister. I am unsure as to whether you can store the excess into a jar then use it days later.

I can smell the alcohol in this mask. It is faint but it can be noticeable if you have a sensitive sense of smell. Since there is alcohol listed in the ingredients, I wouldn’t recommend it for people who have dry or sensitive skin. This is best suited for oily skin and the oily parts of combination skin. This mask may not have the plus on the blackhead removal but I give it a thumbs up for the exfoliation like feature. I would use this as an exfoliating mask once a week. Despite no blackheads were removed, I actually like this mask.

Have you tried any black peel masks?

I think finding the right facemask is hard, a lot of them tend to make me break out, I'm glad you liked this one though. It seems pretty good so I'll probably have to get my hands on my own. 🙂

I love this type of mask, too bad it has alcohol in it. I have sensitive skin so I would defo hesitate to try this out. Good thing that it works for you though 🙂 Donah GIG

I haven’t tried any black peel-off mask but I’m looking forward to buy one. I prefer colored mask so that it can be easily removed (Visible). Maybe you can try applying warm towel to your face first so that the pores will open for the blackheads are easily removed. giglove ^_^

I've never tried a black peel mask. It looks pretty intense if there's pain when it comes off. GIG

Dermatologists have an advantage when choosing makeup – they know what ingredients are beneficial and which should be avoided. Finding out what makeup they wear helps us to figure out which makeup might be best for our skin as well.
