La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

ANTI-IMPERFECTION

Another French brand I haven't heard of and have heard very good things about this. After a month of trying this out, I have never looked back at my other moisturisers. I am converted. My skin has never looked as good as now. I've always had these tiny bumps (spots? blocked pores? unsure as to what they were) on my cheeks and forehead since puberty and nothing has ever got rid of them until now. Not all of them has disappeared but most of them have. So it does unclog the pores and leaves it clearer and smoother. Even my mum has seen a massive difference in my skin. I had a big painful spot on my temple, after using this first time, the redness has calmed down and the pain disappeared. The size of it did get a tad smaller. Great first impression.

I wouldn't say that this is a moisturiser but I do use it as a moisturiser, every morning and night. It isn't harsh as compared the Bioderma which left my skin dry. It's a gel like texture and absorbs well into the skin without leaving any residue on the skin. Hydrates my skin without leaving it dry. I wouldn't say that this product does justice to blackheads. Doesn't really do much on blackheads but that isn't really my main problem which needs to be sorted out asap. This had helped reduced my breakouts by a lot. I don't have random breakouts often on my chin like I use to over the past year. Barely have any now, and none on my time of the month for a change. I do get the odd spot here and there every now and again from spots and an unhealthy diet but no breakouts.

I cannot really see a big difference when it comes to controlling the oil. It leaves the skin velvety and smooth but my oil does come through but not as much as it usually does. So I guess it does work slightly? I don't use this on my makeup days because of this therefore I cannot comment on this as a makeup base. It smells like a bit like spring water, not strong but it'll disappear.

I would definitely keep repurchasing this and each tube will last a few months. Only need a little bit for my whole face. It's a lifesaver. I cannot wait for the results of my skin after using it for another month. For that price, in my opinion, if the product works, the price is worth it. Totally, 100%, highly recommend this especially for spot prone, combination, oily skin! I might have to check and try out the other products within this brand and this Effaclar range. Wish I had tried this earlier or in my teenage years.

  1. I've been using this for a little more than a month and I've been noticing these exact results - this is such an accurate review! Though it didn't do a whole lot for my blackheads, I'd been having a lot of trouble with bumpy skin (though I'm also unsure what they were - more like blocked/congested pores?) and this totally cleared it up when nothing else would! Love love love this product :)

  10. I can't imagine not using this product.

I had a big problem with persistent spots along my jawline and chin, and being in my twenties, I would have hoped acne would have been a problem of the past.

I really like how easily it absorbs into the skin, and how weightless it feels. But I also use something else on top of it, and it doesn't cause a build-up of oils.
