Designer Bag and Shoe Wishlist

02 March 2013

OK, I actually can't afford 99% of these. Can always daydream and wish! I can't contemplate on spending so much on a bag or a pair of shoes whatsoever. Even I think Topshop is expensive never mind these. If I do have a very good pay job, I probably still can't contemplate on paying a lot. I dislike LV, Gucci, Burberry and other generic brands that are popular with Asian fobs/bbcs (not hating!), as it doesn't seem unique anymore, not too keen on the main design and can see them being worn/carried around everywhere I visit. Also my parents dislike designer stuff so I do take after them. Guess being raised in a 98% Caucasian, rough and not wealthy area has an influence on this. You don't want to have designer anything around here otherwise you'll be robbed/vandalised. Designer possessions here very very very rare. To be honest, I actually haven't seen anyone wearing/carrying designer possessions in my 15 years of living here.

Here is my designer wishlist:

Phillip Lim Pashli; Valentino Rockstud Double Handle;
Mulberry Alexa; Alexander Wang Marion;

Jeffrey Campbell Lita Clear; Acne Atacoma; Finsk 252-43;

Jeffrey Campbell isn't actually as expensive as the others. Does it count as designer still? I actually do have a pair on the way! Exciting. But it did take me a few months to decide and look at the factors etc. I shall blog about them once they've arrived! Cannot wait!

My aunty in Hong Kong said the reason people (in Hong Kong and China) only buy these, especially LV, is to show off which I think is stupid. She even told me that she bought a small LV bag to show off even though she doesn't use it or like it.

In my opinion, if you can keep affording to purchase just designer brands, go ahead. Just don't look down and judge people who cannot (e.g. me) and they won't judge you. I personally don't care about people purchasing designer goods. Many friends have and it doesn't bother me. But these are good gift ideas *hint hint* but I wouldn't accept them since I would feel bad and wouldn't be able to afford anything as expensive to give back.

What's the most expensive item you own?

  2. Ohhh, my parents are exactly the same, when I tell my mum how much an LV bag costs nowadays, she almost dies from shock! It's so strange how it used to be so affordable though? Apparently my dad bought her an LV purse years and years ago, she didn't give it much of a second though and accidentally lost it hahah xD

  3. That's what most think: the more expensive it is the better.
    Some say that it's an investment, because it's well made and will last ages. My mom got a LV Palermo and a Gucci Tote that after a year looked really "worn", while I have a bag bought at H&M' 5 years ago that still looks new and I'm using it at least half a year to carry my books!
    The most expensive bag that i (personally) own is a Micheal Kors tote made of saffiano leather (the same as the Prada one, over 2000€) for "barely" 350€ and it's something that I haven't seen on anyone! And I think that the key of having a designer bag :)
