Please excuse the photos of myself. Currently ill and face is swollen. This is basically what you see is what you get! Bright, bold red! What is in the tube is what you get on your lips. Pigmentation is amazing. 100% covers your lips therefore one coat is needed and glides on smoothly. I wouldn’t say that this is a lipgloss nor a lipstick. It’s more of a hybrid of the two. This isn’t too glossy, a nice amount for the day but then has a satin lipstick finish when the gloss wears off. Lasts all day and I didn’t need to top up, which surprisingly ism’t drying without applying a lipbalm beforehand. It doesn’t have the sticky feeling as compared to many drugstore lipglosses out there. The texture of the lacquer is thick and creamy but easy to use. These reminds me of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Vintage Glossy Satin, so it is a pretty good dupe. This shade isn’t really for me but I wanted to test out red lips. I could try and see if I could apply it lightly and get a not so opaque colour in the future. Still love it. Maybe this shade will grow on me if I know how to use and apply red lips correctly. Reminds me that I need to buy a lip liner.
The wand isn’t stiff yet not flimsy. Just right. The foam applicator has a hole in it. Am confused as to why but it’s not a big, major thing. I did find that it does stain the skin a little bit if you’ve missed your lips whilst applying! Yes I have done this, even the swatch on my hand did stain a tad. Think it’s most probably the bright pigmentation in this. I’m pretty sure Rimmel’s lip products have that same generic smell which isn’t overpowering but some wouldn’t like it at first. For the product quality, the price is amazing. Rimmel, you have done so well with these! I cannot wait to purchase more of these.
