E.l.f. Studio Stipple Brush

E.l.f. Studio Stipple Brush: £3.75

This is my first stippling brush. Thought I’d try this first as there are postive reviews of this floating around the web so why not! Can’t complain about the price of this, very afforable however it is one of those products, you pay for what you get. I was excited when I received this. I have planned on using this to apply foundation. Since then, I’ve only used it once.

I have to work quickly with foundations and using this brush didn’t make it easier. Made it harder due to the density of the brush. It isn’t really dense enough to apply foundation. Rather than giving me a flawless look, it gave me a patchy one. Because it isn’t dense, the foundation application became streaky therefore requiring more effort to buff it in more. Once the foundation is blended without streaks, my face had dry patches from this. Hated it. Had needed to use a little bit more foundation than usual.

It had also shed upon first use. Strange. Didn’t shed while washing which is a plus. The brush is of reasonable quality. I didn’t find it really soft. I can’t image using this with any powder products but I would recommend using this if you prefer a sheer coverage. This also works better with other liquid and cream products such as blushes and highlighters. Like I said, you get what you paid for and this is a great brush for beginners.

maybe you can try tying a really small hairband (ones you use to tie braid ends) around the top/mid section of the brush to make it "denser"?
    great post 🙂

    I have this brush too.
I also thought it wasn't that dense and I don't use it for foundation but I do use it for a cream blush and it works.

I have an ULTA brand stippling brush. I just don't like brushes like this for foundation. It works fine on pigmented blushes though.
